The Administrative Data Research Network is an ESRC-funded project that ran from October 2013 - July 2018. It is currently at the end of its funding cycle and is no longer taking applications. Administrative data research will be taken forward in a new project, to be launched later in 2018.

Understanding self-harm amongst children and young people in care.

Self-harm among young people is a significant and growing public health problem. Children in care are at increased risk of hurting themselves as a result of adverse backgrounds and continuing stress. This project provides an opportunity to explore the prevalence of self-harming of children in care in Wales, identifying potential risk factors associated with increased self-harming, as well as a better understanding of whether this particular group of children receive the access and services required for such an important issue.
